A passion for the Spanish Language and Culture of Spain and an enthusiasm for sharing it with others; experience teaching and working in academic settings; a nurturing and caring nature; a desire to provide our participants with the resources to become a talented linguist and aficionado of the rich traditions of this special country.
Rosario Mota Vargas
Assistant program coordinator, teacher, chaperone
Rosario is a native of Sevilla and a Certified ELE teacher. She has years of experience teaching Spanish at the British Academy of Aracena and for True Immersion.
Before her work with True Immersion, Rosario lived and worked in England and earned her degree in Social Work from the University of Granada.
In addition to her other accolades, Rosario is a Certified Gestalt Therapist, runs Mindfulness Workshops, is a mother of one son, David, and is the President of the Parents’ Association of Aracena!
Sally l. laskey
Chaperone
Sally, a resident of Richmond, VA, has a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish from Sewanee, The University of the South, and a M.S. in School Counseling from VCU. In addition to chaperoning trips for True Immersion, Sally is a Guidance Counselor for Chesterfield County Schools, a coach for MS Girls’ tennis, basketball and soccer, and a Collegiate basketball player.
Before moving to Richmond, Sally studied abroad in Valencia, Spain and taught high school Spanish in Vermont.
In addition to all of this, Sally is a private Spanish tutor for True Immersion!
Ana Maya
Public Relations
Ana, a native of Sevilla, Spain, is an ELE certified teacher and worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Foreign Language Department of the International House School in Sevilla. She was also an assistant to the Ambassador to Spain in Malta!
Before her work with True Immersion, Ana was a pre-school teacher and studied classical ballet and flamenco.
Ana has lived or studied in England, North Carolina, Kansas City, Poland, Malta and Ecuador.
